Polishing your acrylic pieces from time to time is the best way to recapture their original shine and remove fine scratches that are an inevitable part of daily life at home. When cleaning your mezuzah, we recommend using a suede-style chamois polishing cloth and/or a non-abrasive paper towel and a cleaning fluid that is suitable for acrylics, as specified on the label. And please be careful: using any products containing ammonia, acetone or lactic acid will permanently damage the acrylic.

A Note on Acrylic:
Acrylic is a beautiful yet delicate material that may be prone to scratches. Daily use will result in minor wear and tear.
Hand wash only with lukewarm water, mild detergent, and the softer side of a non-abrasive sponge or microfiber cloth.
Paper towels are ineffective in removing scratches and may actually cause more. Ammonia-based products like Windex ® or other glass cleaners contain harmful chemicals that will damage the surface of your challah board, leaving it cloudy in appearance.
